GALA Pride and Diversity Center

June, 2025

The Gala Pride & Diversity Center supports and empowers people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions to strengthen and unite our Central Coast Community. Incorporated in 1994 and established in our current building since 2009, we have been supporting the Central Coast’s LGBTQ+ community for over 30 years. The Pride and Diversity Center hosts over 30 social and support groups every month, from book clubs to game nights to therapist-led grief and healing support. We take great pride in our youth program, the free community events we host throughout the year, and our Pride celebration. We work to educate non-profits, private businesses, and government agencies on support and interaction with the LGBTQ+ community through our SOGIE (Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression) training program. Our newly refreshed library offers access to hundreds of LGBTQ+ books for children and adults.

We are so honored to receive this gift from the Unitarian Universalists. We plan to use this money to support our ongoing project of revitalizing our space, including painting the interior of the building, fixing or replacing our windows, and replacing the 15-year-old carpet in our library.
