One Community Fund

April, 2026

One Community Fund, a fund held at The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County, is dedicated to strengthening immigrant communities across San Luis Obispo County.

Guided by the belief that one community thrives when all voices are lifted, the fund serves as a funder, connector, and convener, supporting organizations closest to the work. The fund helps address immediate needs and build long-term stability for immigrant individuals and families.

Local data underscores the urgency of this work:

  • 53% of Spanish‑speaking residents delayed seeking healthcare due to cost
  • 64% of Mixtec families did not have enough money for food in the past year
  • 10% of San Luis Obispo County residents are immigrants

Your support of One Community Fund ensures organizations serving immigrant communities have the resources they need to lead, respond to urgent needs, and sustain their work. Through coordinated support and community-led solutions, the fund provides flexible funding that helps organizations adapt to changing conditions and build a more inclusive future for our county.

SUPPORT

The fund provides grants to immigrant-serving organizations across the full continuum of care, from meeting urgent needs to supporting long-term stability—addressing immediate gaps while supporting sustainable, community-driven solutions and advocacy.

CONNECT

Through the Immigrant Services Guide, the fund connects immigrant-serving organizations and community members to trusted local resources. This curated tool strengthens coordination among providers and helps immigrant families access legal support, crisis assistance, health services, and other essential resources.

CONVENE

The fund plays an important convening role by bringing partners together to strengthen coordination, share insights, and identify gaps in support for our local immigrant community. These gatherings help organizations align around emerging needs and coordinate effective responses.

A community member captures the reality that many immigrant families face:

“I left everything behind to build a better future. The fear and uncertainty are constant, but I hold on to hope—for my daughter, and for a life with dignity.”
