What is this page all about?

At the General Meeting in June 2026, UUSLO selected seven members to form a Search Committee tasked with selecting a new settled minister. Fortunately, the UUA (Unitarian Universalist Association) has a detailed process to follow and offers personal support along the way.

The Search Committee is tasked with discerning the needs of the congregation and assessing all ministerial candidates against those needs.  UU’s are notoriously diverse minded, so this is a task to be taken seriously, centered and grounded in love. The process includes workshops, congregation-wide surveys, small group meetings and more.

This page will be updated as the process unfolds.  Meet the search team. Follow the schedule. Don’t expect to see any information about candidates because it is held in confidence. Come back often for updates. Send the search team your good wishes.

Search Committee Selected

By: Ken Hill, President of the Board of Trustees
06/19/2026

The congregation elected its Search Committee Slate at the June 7th Congregational Meeting. Adrienne Harris, Alice Reinheimer, Alison Rittger, Dawn Olsen, Jamie Woolf, Larry Iaquinta, and Mary Glick have begun organizing and planning their first retreat, to be led by a settled minister search coach from the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Transitions office. (We were able to hire a coach at a discount because of our generous support of the UUA every year.) Financial support for the Search Team comes from our Endowment Fund. Rev. Brigitta Vieyra will serve as the group’s chaplain. During the process of discerning how our congregation can best be served by a “Settled Minister”, the Search Team will be meeting with the congregation for small group and individual input. All of us are enthusiastic as we go forward with our search for a settled minister.
