Unitarian Universalism is all about bringing the transforming power of love into action in community. We do this not just on Sunday morning but throughout the week. Below you will find many ways to get inspired and involved!
We Care Foodshare
Every Wednesday from 3:00 – 4:30 pm UUSLO distributes food for the SLO Food Bank.
We believe everyone has the right to nutritious, delicious food. Our food distribution is an essential safety net for people facing hunger in San Luis Obispo. It’s fun and rewarding to provide this service to the greater community.
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am – 1 pm UUSLO provides free showers to unhoused people in the parking lot.
We give people with the greatest need the opportunity to clean themselves with privacy and dignity on a regular basis. By helping our guests satisfy this basic human need of cleanliness we contribute to their confidence, stability, and self esteem.
Every fourth Sunday at noon UUSLO partners with White Heron Sangha to provide a hot lunch at Prado Day Center.
The People’s Kitchen’s mission is to provide a hot meal everyday to whoever wants it and offer it with justice and love. Over 40 local groups take turns supplying the food and servers for the day. It’s a great way to help out in the community.
