What exactly is “inclusion”?

We’ll explore the topic in a free workshop on Saturday, Feb. 4, at UUSLO. We’ll start at 9 a.m. with a light breakfast (also free), followed by a workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., led by Michelle Call, former executive director of the Gala Pride and Diversity Center in SLO.

We UU’s frequently talk about the need for “inclusion” in our congregations. That’s often a gentle way to say we need to be more welcoming to people of different racial groups. But inclusion includes a lot more than this. For example, are we truly welcoming to the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, children, and those with different religious or political beliefs?

Michelle will help us think about the whole range of inclusion and steps we can take to be more welcoming to all.
