CHILDREN’S PROGRAMMING
We strive to help nurture children to become kind, respectful, fair-minded, caring, and strong enough to side with love and fight for justice. In our religious exploration programming and multi-age classes “Littles” (Grades K-2) & “Middles” (Grades 3-6) we nurture truth-seeking, spirituality, and progressive moral values that will continue to shape and support our children as they grow.
YOUTH PROGRAMMING
Our Jr. high & High School “BIGS” YoUUth Group engage in weekly discussions, workshops & Soul Matters curriculum programming to further deepen their Unitarian Universalist faith. They put their faith into action every day by daring to be real, showing acceptance and support, leading with courage and acting for justice.
OWL
We offer “Our Whole Lives” (OWL) for school age children. OWL is a lifespan, comprehensive sexuality education program, inclusive and holistic in its approach. Leveled curriculum classes by grade level include: K-1, 4-6, & 7-9. Trained facilitators lead groups through a series of interactive lessons. They provide honest and accurate information about relationships and sexuality in an age-appropriate way.
While Our Whole Lives is secular, it is not value-free. The program gives clear messages about the following key sexuality issues: self-worth, sexual health, responsibility, justice, and inclusivity. Our Whole Lives recognizes and respects the diversity of participants with respect to biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, and disability status. The activities and language used throughout the program have been carefully chosen to be as inclusive as possible of this human diversity.
Parents are affirmed as their children’s primary sexuality educator. Non-members are welcome to participate. Fees may apply, with scholarships available.
