Each month, our congregation donates to a local non-profit actively working directly with people in need in SLO county through our Community Outreach Offering. We have given away over $250,000 to worthy causes. You can view our recent recipients on this page.

UUSLO provides free food to anyone who needs it every Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:30 pm in the social hall. Some food is purchased from the SLO Food Bank for donation, however the effort is funded entirely by the UUSLO congregation.

Your donation goes directly to fund this important service.

The Minister’s Discretionary Fund is used to provide direct assistance to individuals in need within and outside the congregation in accordance with the mission of the congregation.

Recent distributions from the fund have gone to help with
• Vehicle/home registration, repair, payments, impound fees
• Storage fees (to protect property from seizure and sale)
• Travel for healthcare
• Phones and phone service
• Supplies for living outdoors

The Endowment Fund provides a large and secure source of income for our congregation to further its mission. Its Its annual income may be used for projects beyond the reach of the church’s operating budget. For more information about the fund and ways to donate, visit our Endowment Fund page.

Join with Casa de Luz and other Southern California UU congregations to help a needy family in Tijuana build their own home. Your donations make this happen! UUSLO members will be traveling to Tijuana October 10-13th to help with construction. Contact Douglas for more info.

Casas de Luz is a social justice action program of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of San Dieguito. They have built over 200 homes since their inception in 2005. They are the most cost-effective organization building homes in Tijuana due to the large amount of in-kind donations from the US.
